Finally the last day has come! Today we watched more of the Lord of the Rings but was much more comfortable. We had pajama day and encouraged everyone to wear footie pajamas, I wore mine. Also since it was Friday fun day we bought a big box of Benitos pizza. We stopped the movie early enough to share our secret santa gifts. I had Jamarcus and Aaliyah had me. I hope he liked his present because I liked mine. You can't go wrong with Bath and Body Works hand sanitizers :).

We read this controversial story "A Good Man is Hard to Find". I felt that this was one of the best stories we read all year. Of course we had to fill out our 8 corner notes but it was a piece of cake. This story was about this family and particularly the grandma. The family wanted to take a trip to Florida but the grandma did not want to go because she heard about the Misfit (an escaped convict who kills people). She went anyways and as they were traveling she directed them off their path to some house but soon realized the house was in Tennessee not Georgia. Startled, she causes them to crash. A car comes up the road and she realizes it's the Misfit and says it out loud, which is a big mistake. Ultimately the family dies. This is a story about good vs. evil, many think as I that the grandma is evil, a witch. In my opinion she caused all of this.

Uh Oh

Everyone was dreading our movie discussion because 1/4 of the class was paying attention maybe not even that. I could see on everyone's faces that they did not want to be picked into the fishbowl. However, the discussion went pretty well. We had great questions (in my opinion) that got great answers. After the discussion we got to work on our holiday cards. This week should be fun.

It is Me and Deja's turn to show our movie. We have picked Les Miserables. This movie is really good in my opinion but super long. I decided to play the movie off my laptop thinking I can get the sound to go through the classroom speakers, well I was totally wrong. I guess you need a cord for that and I didn't know where it was. So we had to settle for terrible sound, and NO ONE was paying attention. That was a major FAIL.

Today was GLPP Career Day and it went very well. Almost everyone showed up except Dr. Darius (I kind of expected that). I was a host for Ms. Danielle Arndt. She is a news reporter and I think that's pretty cool. She works for AnnArbor.com which a lot of stories locally are posted. Every session went well except for one because no one wanted to be interactive -__-. Other than that, I feel we had a successful event. We also watched Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Today we watched Pride and Prejudice. This is a really good movie so far. Its about these girls getting married but the main character is Elizabeth and she is very different from her sisters. Her mother insists on getting each one of them hitched. Elizabeth is not very worried about marriage but you can tell she likes Mr. Darcy. I hope that both of them can push their stubbornness aside and get married.

"Roman Fever" was a really good short story, I got it completely. This story was about two women who claim to be best friends but in the end become enemies. These women have grew old with each other but still don't know much about the other. As the story unfolds, they soon begin to spill secrets. Jealousy ultimately breaks their relationship.

I read "Municipal Report" and I am still confused on it. I know it is a man going to a town which he calls boring but it is the complete opposite. He meets this repulsive man, a big black carriage driver, and this woman (please excuse me, I don't remember the characters names). So apparently the woman was getting beat by her husband the repulsive man and she had a tight bond with the black carriage driver. The man and the carriage driver get into a fight ultimately putting the repulsive man to his demise. In the end the narrator takes the carriage drivers button and throws it. What is the theme here?

Today we are watching Wuthering Heights over again because some people were being rude on Friday. I was sitting in the front and I couldn't hear, now that's bad. I blame it on Ms. Fassbender's absence, everyone wants to act a fool when the teacher isn't there. The movie looked very boring but it was actually interesting. It was definitely centered around revenge. We had to start doing 8 corner notes for movies, which kind of takes away from watching the movie in my opinion.
